Google has taken it upon themselves to analyze & eliminate the reasons for slower page loads that indirectly affect business.
Every time a visitor to a web-page is waiting for the page to load, precious time is being wasted, Google has realized this & wants to reduce the time of waiting for the web-page to load. The websites which takes about 9.2 Seconds to load (US). Google wants to bring this down by 50%.
Indians have recently been introduced to high speed mobile broadband namely 4G. However, the spread is slow with only Kolkata getting access to it. Traditionally, Indians have been accessing internet using decade old 2G or GPRS connections. These slow speed connections have much longer wait time than in the US.
While preliminarily Google has established the reason as the carriers’ network i.e. if users can’t get 3G or 4G service on their smartphones. Uninterrupted service on a phone is must in order to gain faster load speeds. Presently, websites have a full-fledged desktop version & a simplified mobile version. However with the distinction between smartphones & desktops start blurring, companies have to re-design the website so that it loads the desktop version of the website on a mobile device in shorter span of time.
